Barn Owls

I have just been watching a barn owl hunting in the field at the back of my house.

I have not seen many in this area, presumably because it is so wooded, but there does seem to be more of them about lately.

Does anyone know the if they are on the increase in West Sussex?

Hi John and welcome to the forum.

Not sure whether or not they are on the increase, but it is always a good idea to report bird sightings to your country recorder, they should also be able to help you out with your question.

I am glad someone mentioned owls as i have not seen any of the local ones for a good while now,the last one was a tawny which was either caught in a briar or had caught something which was putting a a great struggle
I must get my X20 repaired so I can get photos(I must have banged it it does everything except take pics now)
