| | | Re: isle of arran Someone I know saw eagles on an eagle seeing trip in Glen Rosa, but when I was on Arran I didn't see any. I guess you stand a good chance.
Don't do what I did - get lost! I was in the middle of the island on a complex ridge system, and the mist was coming and going in strong wind so I couldn't get my map out. So I said to myself "What the heck, it's a small island, If I keep going I'll end up on the coast!" It worked, but it was a long slog over rough terrain!

You will also have a good chance to see ravens.

| | | Re: isle of arran Arran is beautiful in the spring. Loads of birds, fantastic flowers, and magnificent waterfalls. My favourite time of year on Arran however is the Autumn with the roar of the stags echoing through the mist. Pure magic!

| | | Re: isle of arran Some years ago we saw a Goldie high above the road on the way to Lochranza - we stopped the car in a layby and 'scoped it, sat in a lone scraggy tree on the top of the ridge above us! We also saw one (or the same bird?) from the 'other' side, near the Distillery (used to be a good tea-room there, too!)
