Will keep my eyes out when I visit my sis ( plus relevant crinklies ) at the end of the month (Limekilns & various fife sites)
Are the sea eagles visitors or do they breed in this country as well?

Hi there, the sea eagles are being reintroduced from Norway, the two birds we saw were a paired male/female introduced in 2009 - but no breeding yet as far as I know! Look at the RSPB website for more info - east scotland eagles. Good place to see them is around Loch Leven - they are attracted by the good food sources there! The red kite is a much rarer site in Fife, so seeing one of those is pot luck I'm afraid,
good spotting!

Nice captures!
As a 'Fifer' (now live on the other side of the Forth) it's nice to see that there are Sea Eagles flying over the 'Kingdom'. Will look out for them the next time I'm at RSPB Vane Farm.
That means we will not have to necessarily go over to Mull to see such a wonderful bird.
Thanks for posting.

| | | Re: Fife birds 2010 - you might like to see these? Thanks John, just what the forum is for! Went to Tentsmuir today for a look around, saw three sea eagles on the beach there in the Spring, but none today. Worth a look during the winter months I think,

UPDATE 2012 Visited Tentsmuir (Fife coast) again on Sunday 11th March and got a very close view of a sea eagle, and then saw 2 or 3 several times in the distance (difficult to be sure of the number when viewing at distance through trees!). No photographs this time, but the party of 13 of us can all vouch for the sightings. We have logged this with SNH,
