| | | Buzzed by buzzards This may not come as a startlingly noteworthy occurrence to more experienced nature watchers than I,but I saw, this afternoon,my first significant aerial congregation of Common Buzzards.I counted 15 birds well spaced and executing the most dramatic aerobatics over Lairds Loch in Perthshire.Naturally,I had neither bins nor camera to appreciate fully or record this spectacle but my myopic missus and her Guide Dog puppy were content to leave me,in peace,on a stump(rather damp I later found out)to enjoy the full splendour of their aerial artistry.
I remember reading or hearing somewhere that this is common behaviour during migration but I've never seen it till now. It's just a pity I wasn't carrying my usual complement of scrap metal and optical wizardry.Ah well,my encroaching Alzheimers permitting,I can enjoy the memory.
