I've only been visiting Hook with Warsash LNR for about a month now (prior to that I had been there once in 1984). The first time I had a good walk round I managed 61 species and this morning I beat that with 62. It really is a great place - okay we're not talking about mega rarities but a good selection of stuff because it has a good selection of habitats.
Highlights today:
Cetti's Warbler (he is always there in the same place!) Razorbill, Grey Plover, Wheatears, Bar Tailed and Black Tailed Godwits, Sandwich Terns, Chiffchaffs, thousands of Swallows with House Martins, Pintail.
I managed 5 new ones so in just over a month I've seen 87 species there - not bad!
