Smile nuthatch
Hi, i have been watching a nuthatch placing peanuts in various places today and covering them over with mud, is this a common practise? as ive never seen or heard of this before

Yes, they are food hoarders, just like Jays, Coal Tits, Marsh Tits and Willow Tits.
