Feather ID

I'm just wondering if anyone can put an ID to this feather, the area is a slightly forested area on farmland in the west of Ireland.
I'm guessing its something quite common, but I can't say I recognise it.

I had a similar feather identified as a male pheasant feather. Their feathers are so varied it is unbelievable. (To me anyway).

It's a tertial or inner greater covert from a male pheasant.

I third pheasant, males especially produce a huge variety of feather types.



(I would say you get to know the types through plucking birds but that might cause offence)

I've seen a lot of pheasant feathers but can't say I'd have assumed this was one, you learn something new everyday
