| | | Sequel to 'Not the Daily Telegraph kingfisher' Having had some success last week with a perching kingfisher, I returned to the same spot yesterday in the hope of meeting it again.
I was more disciplined this time and scoured the foliage on the other side of the river carefully. Suddenly a KF shot out and headed upstream. I followed, only for it to shoot downstream. Back I went but it then reversed its tracks at speed. This time, I was ready for it and quickly took half a dozen snaps as it whizzed by. This is the only keeper:
Of course, it is not as sharp as I would ideally wish, but, I still keep pinching myself.
I took my coffee break (flapjacks this time) but the bird shot off upstream not to reappear.
I was really lucky in every respect because this is near to a spot on the river bank where a couple of dog owners come to throw branches into the river for their six dogs to retrieve. They arrived just after the KF left......
Colin

| | | Re: Sequel to 'Not the Daily Telegraph kingfisher' I think the flapjacks are your major problem Colin. Buttered scones would have ensured a better shot I am sure.
