were off to norfolk this weekend birding. titchwell is our 1st call can any of you suggest anywhere else that will produce the goods preferably in the northern part of the county please?

for recent sightings or any of the information sites.
North Norfolk is blessed with fabulous reserves so other well known hotspots could include Holme, Holkham, Cley, etc.

I hope in 18 months or so banks on the approach paths to hides regrow. The meadow walk bit is still pleasant enough. Holme dunes is a Redshank heaven and the Spoonbill family [from Holkam] were showing well.A female Marsh Harrier was seen every morning which was rather spiffing[as some folk say] |

thanks for the info. apparently titchwell is fully open again from sat 25th. we'll give it a crack and see what happens. think cley could be on the cards for the lapland buntings too. will let you know how we get on or dont has the case may have it.

apart from the driving rain this afternoon had a good day. managed to get 4 new species for me. sanderling,brent geese,great skua and merlin.thought i saw something black and low over the waves but it went over a roller and i lost sight of it. ive never seen so many oyster catchers in one place. titchwell in the morning cley and snettisham this afternoon with a drop in at top lodge on the way home hoping for a kite but failed to see any.
