| | | Help id this bird song, please. For the last few weeks I've been hearing a bird in the distance and despite listening to hundreds of bird song recordings, I haven't had any luck IDing it.
It sounds like eeeee uuuuu eeeee uuuuu repeated 3 or 4 times then a lull before it starts up again.
The "eeeee" part is high pitched and the "uuuuu" part is about 2 notes lower.
Nice clear sound, just simply those two notes.
I hear it mainly afternoon and early evening and it seems to be high in the trees a few 100m away . I'm in Dublin, pretty urban setting but close to a huge wooded area and gardens.
I've tried recording it (on an iPhone) but it's barely audible, I would need a better recorder, I'm afraid.
In the meantime... any ideas? |

In the recordings I've listened to, the Coal Tit sings a two-note song which is slightly similar, though it's faster than the one I'm trying to id. |

they have 70 odd calls documented, probably a lot more variations. |
