| | | Re: redwing There were two reported yesterday in West Midlands and North Yorkshire so I guess they are on the move. Apparently 8th September is the average over the last few years - so relatively late!
If I saw one today (without having looked it up) I would have thought that it was very early indeed.
Even though they are common as schyte I love them and Fieldfares, the harbingers of winter. Last winter I had both in the garden (okay FF was next door but only 10m away) and saw them flying over pretty much daily for a while.
Wonderful birds.
