| | | Common Buzzard over Ilford The unmistakable cry of a Common Buzzard, over Ilford, East London, this morning. Does this mean we have to keep an extra eye on our pets?

| | | Re: Common Buzzard over Ilford It, most certainly was not a joke. I just thought somebody might have actually been interested.
If they are changing their habitat to the extent of appearing over London. Who knows what changes in feeding preferences, they might adopt?

| | | Re: Common Buzzard over Ilford It depends on what size of pet you are thinking of, my falconry friend told me once buzzards have small feet and can not lift anything larger then a rabbit, if they can not find small animals or carrion they usually turn to worms and such like I hope that helps sorry about the joke. have fun Alan. |

| | | Re: Common Buzzard over Ilford OK, serious point. I had a cat once that was capable of taking an adult wild rabbit. It was seen doing it. And, obviously, so can a fox. So the sensible pet owner might be inclined to remember this, and the fact that foxes can scale walls more than 8 foot high. Don't take chances, don't leave them out of their cages, unattended.
That's all I have to say on this matter. Like captaincarot, I thought your question was a joke.

| | | Re: Common Buzzard over Ilford Don't worry, it's only a Buzzard not a Harpy Eagle.
I've never ever seen one catch a live rabbit, so unless you've got a pet hamster or a pet slug on the loose, it won't be a problem. |
