I have finally got around to posting my photos from my trip to Skomer in June(that nearly didn't happen!!)

Stayed in beautiful St David for the weekend. Got up at 6am for the hr trip down to Martin Haven, after another hours wait we were told that the boat would not be sailing

Had a lovely day travelling back up the coast to St David instead.

Then Sunday we were back up at 6am for the hrs drive back to MH. Thankfully the boat was sailing

We had a fab day, we did have a small amount of rain and the fog came in for a little while, but not enough to spoil it.

I am planning to go back again, but earlier in the year so I can see the bluebells

Hi caroline, great photos the perserverance definitely paid off. Still not got to Skomer even though I'm pretty close. Next year it's on top of my list.

Lovely photo's caroline,i went a few years back but missed the puffins as i went late summer but did see seals (alongside the boat),short eared owls,and fulmar's.Cant remember if choughs are on skomer but i never saw them.What is the best time of year to go for variety of birds wildlife folks and what gems can be seen other than the wonderful puffins? How are the puffins doing on skomer ? i think they were declining in numbers a few years back.

Its supposed to be very good for buzzard so this book I am reading say's at the mo but then it was printed in 1974 The buzzard by Colin R Tubbs.

Some nice pics there Caroline.
I tried to get to Skomer during a two week holiday in Wales in late May. Unfortunately, due to the weather (a stiff north easterly wind was blowing) the boat didn't sail on the day I made the long trip from where we were staying down to Martin Haven and as those conditions prevailed for another couple of days I didn't get a 2nd chance - perhaps next year

Great images! We visited skomer last year, but sadly didn't make it this year. I do hope to make it again next year, it's a superb place!
