but it's wildfowl and woodland birds mainly. it's had 2 visits from great white egret that i know of this year.
there are buzzard in the area and in summer you might be lucky and pick up a hobby. |

| | | Re: Lincoln and Clumber park you have a chance of all 3 woodpeckers,
there's supposed to be hawfinch round the chapel there but i've not seen them in 40 years of visiting.
the lake has feral greylags and canadas plus lots of ducks mainly malard and mute swan.
when it's hot there is also a chance of seeing common lizard.
for lsw follow the path past the chapel and then go into the woods on your left, greens opposite side of the lake in the rough ground, greaters it's pot luck where they turn up.
nuthatch are pretty easy to see just over the bridge keep a look out for bird feeders.
you can also see gold crest and nightingale, both round the chapel area. |

| | | Re: Lincoln and Clumber park Clumber is great well worth a visit - its a little far for me but its nice. its got a good range of habitats - top quality ancient woodland, heathland, grassland, water, reedbeds, farmland. pretty good! i went down to try for the great white egret but it had gone that day
i'm originally from lincolnshire, but i dont know many places due to the fact i've only been birding since i've lived in notts. Theres some good farmland about - espcially near my hometown of sleaford - where i have seen kestrels buzzards and little and barn owls. good populations of yellowhammer and linnet too.
in lincoln itself there is whisby nature park which is ok, though i've only been once. basically just a gravel pit based nature reserve - you can get quite a good list here. the cathedral is good for peregrines too.
hope this helps!!!
