Heron Incognito

This shot simply amused me - the bird must have been camera shy, or something - 'Ardea incognito' perhaps?

Ah, shy herons! Not to hijack your thread, but this failed photo is one of my favourites for some reason. Once again, I was not quick enough to catch the moment, so I just got part of a heron leaving the scene.

Mmmmm....I wonder ...if we printed every photo off that we "took" how many would consist of empty feeders/water/grass etc

I speak from experience (willow tits coming to the garden every day for 7 years - 2 half decent pictures{by my standardsxexe)

i've taken litterally hundreds that have bits of tail feather disappearing off the edge of the frame

I can emphazise with you all ,I think I must have a hit rate of 25% that are like this
