The idiots that do this have no idea about the ecology of this species. What they fail to see is that red kites will actually benifit them in the long run. They actively predate corvid nests which would otherwise predate their game.

I found a red kite last year poisoned buzzard and sparrowhawks , keepers spring to mind. Alan.

i watched these kites being released on the local news, this is sad, cant help thinking these morons with the guns need educating, i can see them ,probably cant read or write, and dont understand how the kites have come to be there, lets hope they are caught and fast ,before more kites are to perish. rossy.

You know what the maddening thing is, even if and that's a BIG if they catch the mindless idiot that did this what punishment are the courts going to give him that will deter other mindless idiots with guns waiting in the shadows?

Is it me or does it seem that all crimes against animals, tame or wild are dealt very very leniently. In fact I'd go so far as sometimes its a flippin' joke!

Apologies for going completely off-topic but....
Not just crimes against wildlife or animals - all crimes seem to be all too often dealt with too leniently these days. "Ah, bless, he comes from a broken home/was drunk/is sorry your honour and won't do it again/didn't know it was illegal..." etc. etc.

I am afraid as long as there are pheasant and grouse shoots raptors will always be killed, any bird of prey or animal who just might take one of these will get the same treatment from these morons. its enough to make you want to cry, or something else? Alan.
