awesome wildlife walk this morning!

This morning I decided to go see if I could find any watervoles and otters on the river... no luck there, sadly, but the place was teeming with other wildlife!;
I had a very close view of a kingfisher, couple of metres from me.. I saw 2 beautiful cormorants, one drying its wings in the sun.. coots, moorhens, a couple of jays posed for me on a nearby tree, saw green woodpeckers, a grey heron.. nothing rare/uncommon sadly, but they were all very beautiful creatures, lovely to see them.. I also saw some enormous hornets, small copper butterflies, and many species of dragonfly. Wonderful

I live in southwest London, and I visited the river mole in surrey (leatherhead stretch). .. i think there may be voles and otters there, but really not sure.. they have some vole colonies at other places on the Mole, and otters have been seen in surrey quite a bit recently.. hopefully in the next few years they will flourish there, as the rivers continue to get cleaner..
