| | | feathers Hi,
Was it my imagination, or wishful thinking - but did someone give a link to a site which helps with identification of feathers?

"There is the Helm guide to Tracks + Signs of the Birds of Britain + Europe by Brown, Ferguson, Lawrence + Lees which has c130 pages devoted so feathers + other sections on feeding signs, skulls, footprints, etc."
Have had a quick look back through the more recent posts but can't find a link to a website.

willowjay | I don't know if the link to this site has been on here previously but I've found it quite useful.
Here is the link Feathers
To enter the site click on the little British flag on the bottom left hand side. |

| | | Re: feathers im no expert, but i do love my books... no matter what the subject , and once you get one bird book you have seen them all ( to a point). but when i read the reply , i went to an online shop and purchased it. Even if it makes no sense at first , like it did with me , its a great book and for some reason brings you a little closer to our feathery friends..has to be one of the best books to date i have brought... |

| | | Re: feathers Thanks, everyone,
Yes, Blizzard the link works fine - what a brilliant site! It's enabled me to ID a feather from a great spotted woodpecker in a few seconds.
many thanks

willowjay | Glad you found it useful. I use it all the time but still have to resort to asking for help sometimes . |

Have had a quick look back through the more recent posts but can't find a link to a website. | I second this book recommendation, I use my copy a lot. As well as feathers it covers skulls, footprints, feeding signs, pellets etc.
Steve
ETA sorry for the repetition
