| | | Blackbird with broken leg I think i know the answer but....my Mum has a female Blackbird with a broken leg, in her garden. I haven't seen it but apparently the poor thing has it almost hanging off. I imagine it will be caught (the male was taken by a sparrowhawk yesterday) by a bird or cat pretty quickly,as it finds it very difficult to take off.
Do they ever recover from a broken leg, or can anything be done to help?
