| | | chess valley walk ( part of it ) I spotted a little walk in july issue of bird watching magazine, which was not far from where i live, so the missus me and the dog went for a little walk, yesterday.
Got a bit lost and eventually found a place to park in latimer village.
So we set of bino,s note book in my bag.a lovely walk nice and mild , we got a little lost but it came to our advantage. Upon the detour the good lady spotted a couple of red kites, see pic , managed a snap of one of them , and then best of all we see 3 buzzards hovering high just as we got back to car.
not much else was spotted , a little grebe the usual coots, moorhens, ducks,a couple of mistle thrushes, and the usual chorus as we past through some wooded areas.I will go back again just for the scenery as well.
a recomended place to go if your near .

| | | Re: chess valley walk ( part of it ) There's usually little egrets along the valley and last year an osprey settled for a while near the Chenies watercress beds. There's also southern marsh orchids near the river at Frogmore Meadow, but it's a bit late for them now.
The Chess has sadly declined over the years. When I first knew it there were many brown and rainbow trout, grayling as well as the usual coarse fish. It was also great for crayfish. Usual story - pollution!

I try and do the 6 mile walk to Church End. It's a lovely place to walk.
