I am currently staying in West Norfolk (last week and this week in West Newton) and have open farmland at the end of the garden. In fact, I can see a tree about 3 hundred metres or so away where they have currently settled. I'll go take a look and see if I can get a better view. | Try and get some photos too, even if they're distant

They came back just a short while ago, closer this time so I could get a good look with the scope and they are indeed Mistle Thrushes. Must be about 20-30 of them too.
And there was me about to dust off the thermals and get the winter tyres fitted again! |

| | | Re: Fieldfares already?? Just to add to the growing list of early sightings, I've just seen a pair of Fieldfares by the college near Xscape in Glasshoughton, Yorkshire.
I've very confident they were Fieldfares as their call is pretty unmistakable. |

| | | Re: Fieldfares already?? I would not be expecting fieldfares yet, and would agree with ROY W that what are being seen are mistle thrushs, there is some large groups of them at the moment in local park near to me feeding on the hawthorn berrys. These groups are from 5 up to about 20. As to OP have looked at bird sightings for merseyside cheshire and wirral no reports of fieldfares as yet. MIKE |

| | | Re: Fieldfares already?? Agree with Adam likely to be Starlings- both the number + where they are perching typical for this species. | | | | | Thread Tools | | | | Display Modes | Linear Mode |
