| | | What birds do you most want to see? I thought i would start this thread so people could say which birds they want to see and where in the country they live and then people could reply if they knew where to see them or give tips of how to spot them. Mine are Hen Harrier, Nightingale, LSW, ,Merlin and Bittern. And I live in Devon. |

I would like to see a hen harrier and a merlin. (marsh harriers are doing well here) Any raptor. Most of all I think, a Goldcrest. Up until a couple of years ago top of my list was hoopoe. I saw one within half an hour of being in spain.. ok.. not a brit bird.. but wow!

Well I live in a county where there are supposed to be many of these birds and anyone who knows me will know that my quest for the elusive bullfinch continues unabated. I'm thinking of painting the front of a sparroow salmon pink and taking a photo at a distance at the rate I'm going!

| | | Re: What birds do you most want to see? Hi guys. Deer stalker do you get the LSW's on your feeders if so what do they feed on and if they don't visit the feeders do you know what makes them visit your garden. I am asking because I know I have at least one pair in my local wood and have seen their nest hole (see pic below) and would love to encourage them into our garden. Thanks

You will have to come up here as I can guarantee you Bullfinches.
My wish list for the UK are for various rarities that pop up from time as virtually all the other birds I know where to go to see them. However my top wanted bird that I have missed numerous times I am hoping to find when I go to Spain on my own on Dec 26th for a few days. It is a Black-shouldered Kite and if I see that then that means I have virtually cleaned up on my top ten most wanted birds (that are possible) this year.
I am going to have to think what my new top ten are. I know the first two, Wallcreeper and Eagle Owl. I suppose my most wanted bird in Britain is a Killdeer as I have missed them numerous times so that will go into my top ten. The rest I will have to give some thought to.

| | | Re: What birds do you most want to see? I live on the side of a hill called Kite Hill, and would love to see the Red Kite as I assume it was named after them. We also have plenty of farm land and a newly planted wood, so more raptors. |

For me, i'd love to see a Lesser Spotted Woodpecker |
