Ring Ouzels have declined in the Peak District, but they are still surviving as a breeding species, with the main area apparently being near Stanage.
Those with an interest in climbing/mountaineering and related pastimes appear to have shown a very responsible attitude to helping with the protection of pairs in this area: UKC Forums - Stanage - Ring Ouzels 2010 BMC - Access & Conservation |

| | | Re: ring ouzel As previously said, they have declined in the Peak District, but still breed there in reasonable numbers. In spring and early summer they are fairly easy to see around the gritstone edges in the NE areas of the National Park, especially edges adjacent to mooredge pasture. Cutthroat Bridge is a good place to look for early arrivals in spring.
