| | | chaffinch chick needs feeding Hi
Please can someone give advise. My husband came across a destroyed nest in a building site yesterday. One chick on the floor, no sign of mum and dad. He bought it home and I got it to eat half a grass hopper. I bought some mealy worms but it is not opening it's beak
Last night it was chirpy, this morning very quiet. I mashed some worms and added a bit of water this morning and gently fed the liquid through a medicine syringe which it seemed to eat.
What else can I do? I can't find any caterpillas (typical they're usually munching all my plants!!)
Thanks

Ellaine | find the nearest wildlife rescue centre and take the bird in - it will need to be rehabbed (as well as fed!) |
