Herring gull trapped behind netting - advice please!

Hi There,

I spotted the gull on Wednesday lunchtime, trapped behind the netting at the Landgate Arch in Rye, East Sussex. It was still there Thursday, so I phoned Rother Council and the RSPCA. Long story short, the council weren't particularly helpful despite being responsible for the Arch and the netting (Health and Safety reasons) and although the RSPCA sent someone along, because the gull wasn't visible during his brief visit he was unable to contact the fire brigade to get the poor soul out

It is definitely still there, I saw it at about 5.30 this evening.

It's not flying against the netting any longer, just peering out and looking a bit bemused. I would like to know if it is likely to last the weekend and if there is anyone else I could contact who might be able to help.

Thanks v much for the contact details. The seagull wasn't there yesterday, so I'm hoping it found its way out... Good to have the details future reference
