Swallow perches.
Does anybody know where swallows gathered to perch before telegraph wires were erected?

Most likely on the cliff faces and cracks that they naturally breed in.They will rest on any prominent perch.

That question reminded me of something a primary school teacher friend of mine mentioned once: one of the kids in her class asked her what clothes moths lived on before there were any people.
