| | | Re: found baby bird, not sure of breed!!! Not sure, but it's possibly a robin. If it is, it needs insects. Live food like waxworms are ideal. Baby birds are not easy to handrear. General advice is to leave them alone. However, since it is in captivity, perhaps your friend should consider passing it to a wildlife rescue organisation which will be geared up for caring for fledgelings. |

| | | Re: found baby bird, not sure of breed!!! Is there anything wrong with this bird? if there is nothing wrong with it you should really release it where you found it. Its a Juvenile Robin that looks like its just fledged. |

Toria1, I agree with Dogghound, tell your friend to come and get it and release it immediately in the vicinity where they found it - preferably high up in a bush. It looks more like a juvenile Dunnock to me, but either way, the advice is the same.

| | | Re: found baby bird, not sure of breed!!! It's a Dunnock. Take it back to wherever you got it from and release it immediately. Like, right now. Otherwise it will be dead by morning. |
