Unidentified Yellow & Black Bird

I saw a two birds out of the kitchen window. One was on the feeder, and one was on the fence. What was most distictive was the heads, as both had black, grey and yellow colours on the heads. I don't remember what colour the bodies of the birds were, but I assume they were less striking than the birds' faces. They were also pretty rounded and fluffy, not a sleek shape, and were either robin-sized or not much bigger.

Any ideas would be much appreciated.

Possibly a pair of siskins?

Male Siskins have black + yellow on their heads, but I wouldn't describe them as rounded. Have at look at images in the Gallery to see if these resemble your birds.

I think that there was less yellow on the body than on the siskin, and the siskin looks thinner and less fluffy. I am no bird expert though. I am well out of my depth with them.

Could have been very young blue tits, They have various shades of yellow/blue/grey.Have seen a few this morning being brought to the feeder.
