| | | Re: Bird feeding advice please Hi
I have pigeons and doves. I find them quite funny. Has anyone thought pigeons are very good protectors and have chased off all the magpies that hound the area for eggs and nestlings. I once saw two collered doves chase a magpie across the garden and the magpie was gone. They then sat on the telegraph posts and kept watch. Facinating but i do realise pigeons can be a problem. | | | Re: Bird feeding advice please I'm quite happy to have collared doves and wood pigeons. What I object to is feeding the racing pigeons from down the road. They aren't really a problem now I've moved the bird table close to the hedge (but that makes it riskier re cats) but they are always on the lookout for a free meal.
I think a lot of people here could live with pigeons in the garden but their neighbours can't. |

Debbie | I saw the same thing the other day , and i was amused that the collared dove made the maggie look small.
i love the dove but the pigeons , one that comes down has, like bumblebebob, a perch to get the sunflower hearts .i am thinking of moving that soon. | | | | | Thread Tools | | | | Display Modes | Linear Mode |
