| | | injured juvenile blackbird Please help. My first post here is one of desperation. Last night my daughter found an injured juvenile blackbird in some distress. She took it home and we could see that one wing was hurt, one foot is not gripping and he had most of his tail feathers missing, plus a bald patch on his back. He was a lively fellow, despite all his trauma and we decided to keep him overnight in a warm ventilated box. We tried ringing the S.S.P.C.A. but it was gone 10pm and no one was there. This morning my partner, got up and dug some worms up from the garden, the little bird ate at least four or five worms and had taken some of the water we had put in a little dish for it. Its wing and leg still seem injured and we are awaiting the opening of the S.S.P.C.A. offices soon. Could anyone advise us on this situation please as to its needs and what should we do. It is a male, juvenile blackbird. |
