| | | Warbler ID As it says in the title! Any help appreciated saw these guys in my garden yesterday, sorry about quality of photos thought getting a pic at all was more important than getting a good pic, as I didn't recognise them, and wanted to ask. Prominant eyestripe, very vivid yellow and fairly orange beak. Small bird with flutterly 'butterfly' flight. The other I *think* is a juvenile of whatever the very yellow one is, but it may not be the same species at all! Photos are SOOC and not edited at all. Shot in RAW, colours accurate.
Very pretty little birds!
Adult:
Juvenile?:
Thanks!
xx

| | | Re: Warbler ID The last two are adult (moulting) Chiffchaff. The first look more like Willow Warblers although facial pattern is a bit Chiffy and juvenile Chiffchaff can look quite yellow at times! Leg colour can vary and isn't reliable - Chiffchaff can have pale buff to yellowish feet - hard to be absolutely certain without a decent view of wings |

So much easier to ID in your hand than in a photo. |

I think 45 out of 50 birds were juvenile today, there are alway good numbers of juv. birds at this time of year, great to see. |

| | | Re: Warbler ID I also find it difficult too id from a photograph though equally, I bet I'd struggle with a silent bird held in the hand! I often need to see a bird move about and chatter a bit before I'm confident on ID.
(P.S.) I agree with the IDs too.
