| | | Dead Jay Saw something on neighbour's lawn yesterday but wasn't sure what it was. Still there today and it's a dead jay. We disposed of it as neighbours are away and I'm sure they wouldn't like to come back to that..However, there was no sign of injury from cats or anything, no blood etc. I'm also curious why cats haven't taken it during the night? I can't help wondering what might have happened to it. Anyone any ideas? |

| | | Re: Dead Jay Collided with something? poison? disease? Cats do take dead birds, I suppose it depends on how well fed they are. |

| | | Re: Dead Jay Well yes, the cats around here seem well fed enough but maybe would have taken the bird eventually. Done them out of a meal there, what a shame (not)!
I did think the jay may have collided with something as there were no signs of trauma at all. Or maybe it was old or something? I really never think about birds dying of old age, it just seems an odd thing to imagine somehow! Likely collision or poison then eh. |
