Blue Tit in a Tube

I was out under my back porch (watching for the early Bats) when a Blue Tit flew in under the porch and straight to a bamboo tube secured to the wallplate
with electrical "zip ties" (the heavy timber bolted to the house wall that supports the high end of the rafters) The Blue Tit then disappeared into the 2" tube through a hole I would have thought much too small (it was intended as a bee hotel) it is obviously roosting there. My son assures me it has been using it for months!

Blue Tits can fit into a 26 mm hole (one inch).

We have one that often flies out from a gap just above the kitchen window behind the UPVC frame under the tile overhang (you might have to see it to know what I mean). I would never have thought anything could or would get in there!
