We had a great time at Hornsea Mere, you were right it was a good place to visit with the family we saw lots of ducks/geese (about a 100 greylag) and some Whooper Swans, terns and gulls. Hornsea was a lovely seaside town and the kids enjoyed it.

Spurn head was fantastic, I manage a couple of hours at chalk bank hide and saw redshanks, Dunlins, Golden plover, curlew, and ringed plover,

I might be wrong but I think I spotted a couple of Whimbrel, do you think this could be possible and do you know if they have been sighted in the area.

Thanks again and East riding is well worth a visit.

Very possible, steady numbers coming over Flamborough and Filey futher up the coast.

It was slightly smaller than a curlew and a less curved bill, I could'nt make out its two dark stripes on top of its head, I hope it was as it would be a first for me.
