| | Brancher Sparrowhawks' First Flight So, I am sitting right here at my computer, technically finishing my coursework watching three young sparrowhawks taking their first steps out into the world! I have suspected for a while that they were nesting in a huge pine tree in the church yard that is visible from my window and now it is confirmed I hope they'll be ok as the weather here is abysmal for young birds and they're getting thrown about like mad in the wind! Unfortunately no pics as the camera is in the shop (typical!) It makes me laugh because even though I am around raptors every day I still feel like a little kid at christmas when I see things like this I've got three sitting on the roof of the house opposite looking a bit ruffled from the wind but otherwise strong and healthy! from the size I would say they are three females as the muskets tend to be quite a bit smaller No sign of mum and dad yet but I assume they're out hunting lol
ATB,
Sam
