Spotted flycatcher
Hi

One of our friends in the village has been telling us for a while about a pair of spotted flycatchers nesting in his garden. As we had never seen any before, he invited us for a peek. They are nesting in a vine, right above his back door. We went and sat out in the garden (which is pretty small) and they just didn't care, and carried on with their business, catching stuff for the young. We think this is their second brood as they have been there a good couple of months. Here are some piccies (taken by my partner, not me!!).....

always good to see spotted flycatchers , years ago they used to be plenty, but not anymore, lucky you , rossy.

I still haven't seen one this year so I am a tad envious of your friends garden. Not only that it's possibly not that far from where I live in Coventry.
