| | Hybrid Dove??? Hello everyone. I am a new user on this forum. I have recently seen this Dove in my garden, it is always alone and gets cgased away by the collard doves who also visit. It is an odd colouration, could anyone help me identify it please. |

| | | Re: Hybrid Dove??? Thank you for your replies. Leucistic isn't a term I was familiar with. I " Googled it" and am now even more fascinated than before. The poor thing is always alone, spends hours a day in my garden. The other collared Doves that visit will chase it away, it appears to have a slightly deformed foot too.
Is it a rarity??? should I tell someone???
Thank you. |

| | | Re: Hybrid Dove??? Hi Pajamazza.
Leucistic birds like this are frequent,so this isn't really that rare at all,I'm afraid.
Cheers Jason. |

| | | Re: Hybrid Dove??? I know i'm not very good at this bird identifying thing but it looks a lot like a Turtle Dove to me !
Bearing in mind when they squat down the marks on the neck look like one line? http://www.gybc.org.uk/gybcpics/TurtleDove.jpg
I should add that there is only one Turtle Dove on the table, the rest are collared Doves ...
