The wandering White-tailed Lapwing has turned up at Rainham Marshes on Aveley Pools today. Was still there at lunchtime. Pity that I was off yesterday.

Adam | I'm hoping it hangs around- though I'm not that confident! Excellent record for Rainham that also hosted it's close relative the Sociable Lapwing about 3 or 4 years ago. |

Dashed blighter is now spending its third day at Dungeness RSPB and I can't get there. Aaaargh. Great White Egret and Purple Heron supporting cast too. |

Phew. Many thanks to Cordaline who facilitated my getting down there to see the cracking Plover that displayed to the masses - well, about a dozen of us. Great flight views of the Great White Egret too. Pity I didn't get a clean sweep of the Purple Herons though. |
