Sorry if I'm in the wrong area. Yesterday I logged onto the RSPB Hobby webcam at the New Forest. There was one chick and one egg. Today there is no parent bird or chick, only the one egg. However, I have been reading posts that suggest this morning there was 3 eggs, but no mention of the chick. I only saw one egg and a chick - has any got any answers please |

the nest may have been visited by predators like corvids ( crows) were is the nest EG in a tree or box etc |

Just had a look, only one egg there, but there doesnt seem to be any connected blog to find out what has happened.

It is the one in a tree and suggestions have been made that Predators have been at the nest - but what I cannot understand is the post I have read today are saying that there were 3 eggs this morning - well I logged onto this cam yesterday - and there was only one egg and a chick, which the female was feeding - I cannot understand how we can go from yesterday having one chick and one egg, to today someone saying 3 eggs and no mention of a chick. Hope I am making sense. |

I think it was on the New Forest Gateway site - Maybe will remain forever a mystery what I saw yesterday |

It is showing the nest with one egg, however there is downie feathers so I do think there must have been a chick there |
