| | | Baby Red Kite - I'm sooo lucky!! Hello
Our tiny village newsletter has recently been re-vamped and I offered to write a regular column on our local wildlife. As Red Kites are our most common and famous visitors, my first article was about them. It was published on Friday.
Lo and behold the next day I received a call from a gentleman in our village, telling me had a pair of red kites nesting in his garden. He invited me round, so I jumped at the chance and went this afternoon. Couldn't see much, but they did give me a photo to share - it is the day the forestry commission came to tag the baby. I'm sure you'll agree its pretty awesome to see!! They say he should fledge in about a week!!! So excited and privileged!!! |

And well done on your appointment as wildlife columnist for your village newsletter - knowing your area as I do I'm sure you'll never be short of subject matter.
Best wishes

| | | Re: Baby Red Kite - I'm sooo lucky!! Thank you everyone.
Been back tonight to have a look. Baby is resting his head on side of nest, and here is quite a fuzzy photo, if you look hard enough you can see him/her...
And here is his mummy or daddy.... |
