Starling versus Swift
Has anyone observed starlings and swift apparently fighting over nest sites? Last night I witnessed a swift, hot on the tail of a starling. The starling flew straight into its nest (barn eaves) and then proceeded to scream for at least 15 minutes from the entrance, as if to warn off the swift. Any theories/knowldge on what it was I witnessed? I thought it would be too late for tiffs over nest sites.
