Chick ID Required Please

Found this little chick in my garden last night - fon't worry it wasn't stuck as it moved around the garden later on

Could anyone help ID - I thought Robin - my OH thinks Blackbird

i would have to say, that i go with your oh, i think it's a blackbird, but im sure you will get more qualified answers than mine in due course, either way, what a cheeky grumpy chappy he looks.

you could be right about a robin chick, as both birds have similar markings when they fledge, but you can tell by the size which is which, was yours roughly the size of a starling ? if so it would have been a blackbird. rossy.

Im torn between both but my first thought was robinso thhat is my guess

Definitely a Blackbird. They're darker and more striated than Robins. As well as being about 3x the size.

I was talking to my OH earlier - and he said there was a male Blackbird hanging around for ages - so I now think this is a Blackbird Chick - kept us all guessing didn't he lol xx

you might not believe it, but guess what i have just heard and seen, a just fledged robin in my backgarden, waiting for camera to charge and i will post it.
coincidence or what?

ps;i know its not that much of a coincidence this time of year, but believe me in my tiny garden it most certainly is.
