News of an Albino Bearded Tit

I regularly get a newsletter from Wildlife Extra and the news on this one was of an Albino Bearded Tit. Now that is a bit different. Take a look at it via this link.

Wildlife Extra - Albino bearded tit spotted in Lancashire

Re: News of an Albino Bearded Tit

now that really would have stumped me if I'd seen it. A very unusual looking bird.

I didn't realise Bearded Tits were quite so rare - only 500 pairs in the UK? It's nice to see them doing well at Leighton Moss.

Yes, I'd have been positing on here looking for an id.. Quite a sight; reminds me of my blue headed blue tit, the exact opposite really!

Wonder if it will be more likely to be predated on because of it's colour!

Certainly looks different- I wonder if one has been seen before? If so must be very rare!

Few days ago saw a photo on another forum of a partial albino Goldeneye which looked a little strange too.

Yeah cute

Mrs Fish - have you tried the Norfolk wildlife Trust reserve at Hickling. I got some real close up views of them this summer, down to a few feet!
Only had my macro gear with me though Sods law I guess

She shouldn't need to go that far living in Suffolk. They are fairly guaranteed at Minsmere.

Here it ishttp://www.english-nature.gov.uk/special/lnr/lnr_details.asp?C=38&N=&ID=585
I am very lucky it is right outside my front door
I have never seen a flycatcher, the reed beds have grown alot like they do so there are reed warblers and reed buntings, I'm waiting for a bittern to pop in

Sorry that link is not working, try this
