Red Kite spotted at Boddingtons Reservoir, Northampton.

Hello,

Went for a little bird watching/sightseeing last Sunday and saw a rather big bird that seemed to glide and have this elegancy about it, I pulled up my binoculars and my suprise a glimmer of red shone into my eyes.. My first Red Kite sighting in a year, what's best is that it was the first time that I have been there!

Fantastic to see these birds in our area. I hope they thrive.

A worry and concern is that there is a significant wind farm proposed by Partnership for Renewables adjacent to the reservoir. I am hugely concerned about the impact this will have on all local wildlife including bats and birds. The location is not particularly windy evidenced by assumptions of efficiency of less than 25%.

It would seem that we have at least three pairs in Northamptonshire that I know of so I suppose there are more, fingers crossed they will continue to increase
