| | | Would a Hobby prey on a damselfly? Hello,
I was wondering if the Hobbies diet was strictly on dragonflies? Because it's going to be warm tomorrow and i'm going to Bedfords park and they have damselfly ponds, this sort of setting could be very encouraging for them. So would the Hobbies be attracted to this area?
Thanks, HanD. |

Not sure; Dragonflies are larger and patrol large areas which would make them pretty conspicuous from the air and BoP's perspective, and Damselflies are of course smaller and tend to fly shorter distances and land more frequently in my experience.
Still, if the pond has Damsels then I'd be surprised if it doesn't have an Emperor Dragonfly or two... and that could attract a Hobby. Still, if the area has Swifts then one may still be about either way.
No doubt our experts will give a better account! Enjoy the day either way - good luck!
Take care, Jason |

Take care, Jason | Ah, thanks. I'm pretty sure the ponds have a wide range of drangonfly species but the ponds are mainly dedicated to damelflies.. Swifts are present this time of year so I'm going to stay hopeful and prey they're around!
