| | | Red Kite over M3 I saw a red kite over the M3 this afternoon, between Jn6 and Jn5, I think closer to Jn6. (Between Basingstoke and Hook).
Are they often seen there? I've only seen them on the M40 before.
I wondered also - do they take road kill, and if so, do they end up squashed, like crows do? |

Red Kite do mainly feed on carrion, although I have to say I have never seen one squished on the road, and there are loads around here. They will also take small live mammals and birds, but not very often.
I think there are Kites in the Basingstoke area. They are spreading fast. Beautiful birds! |
