do they makes make holes/go in holes in the muddy cliff walls?
are they quite rare?
hop along gravely beach
when i was fossling in a location just outside of whitby i saw these things that looked shorelarky to me

| | | Re: Shorelarks in north east? Shorelarks breed "on alpine moors and dry stony ground, often on crown of lowest fells" (Collins Bird Guide). They are usually seen in the UK in wintertime which was when I took this photo

Were they Sand Martins maybe.

think it was winter when i saw them , they were hopping along the stony shore then going back into the mud cliffs, ill look up Wheatear now
could well be one of those if it lives in cliffs and the females are brown |

There are no Wheatears or Sand Martins here in the winter,they are summer visitors
