| | | Just a thought, but maybe I being paranoid... While I was enjoying the sunshine in my back garden today, I noticed a greenfinch that had landed on the safety net of the next doors trampoline, and I thought if the bird had seen something to eat on or around the trampoline and flew down to eat it, would it be able to find its way out?
Just wondered if anyone had heard of birds getting trapped and maybe exhausted themselves trying to find a way out, But then I may just be being paranoid!! |

| | | Re: Just a thought, but maybe I being paranoid... It depends a lot on how easy it is for the bird to get in and out. Large mesh nets shouldn't pose a problem, but birds (Blackbirds in particular, I think) are adept at finding tiny gaps in fruit netting, to get in and feast on the fruit, and not so clever at finding those same gaps to get out (unless it is that they eat so much they can't fit through the entrance they used!). I have rescued many a Blackbird from fruit netting - but I don't remember any fatalities.
