| | | bird call help We have heard a strange bird call in the field next to our garden and can not identify it. It sounds like it should come from a biggish bird but generally only heard in the afternoon and sometimes the evening.
As I haven't managed to record the sound (or seen the bird) I will describe to the best of my (limited) ability Here goes - ooooo-whoop, ooooo-whoop. The second note is higher than the first
Many thanks for any help |

| | | Re: bird call help No, it's not that. It is a really deep, rounded call - will maybe do two or three then will hear no more for a while then it will start up again. The nearest we can find in sound is a curlew but that isn't exactly right and we are on farmland so nowhere for it to wade! |
