Baby bird help

I have read all of the advice, however I am unsure on this one. My garden is inclosed so the bird will be safe from cats and the like. It is partly feathered and is about 2/3 the size of an adult. It is unable to fly, and for the past 2 weeks has been hiding and jumping around in my small garden. The mother has been returning, and has been feeding it the bread I have left out for it. I have also been leaving out water just in case. Will this bird eventually learn to fly so should I leave it, or perhaps take it to a rescue centre?

..Hello and welcome to WAB...I think you should leave well alone all the time the parent bird is feeding it..or it is feeding itself....the only thing is that bread isn't really ideal to feed it on. What sort of bird is it, cos some need seed, and some feed on caterpillars and so on which can be supplemented by fat balls, or meat fat (not bacon if salty), some dig for worms, which will be easier for it if you keep a section of garden or lawn well watered. Also keep putting the water as you are doing, so the parent bird can use it if necessary.Let us know what sort of bird it is.....hope this helps...Posie..
